Irvine, California (May 23, 2016), DecisionInsite, a leading provider of cloud-based and interactive enrollment analytics to school districts nationwide is excited to announce that its StudentView platform will be the first to receive the iKeepSafe California Privacy Badge as well as the Federal FERPA Privacy Badge.
“DecisionInsite has always understood the importance of student data privacy and security,” says says DecisionInsite’s President and CEO, Michael Regele. “The iKeepSafe process presented a unique opportunity to have an independent third party assess our practices and procedures.”
The Internet Keep Safe Coalition (iKeepSafe), established in 2005, is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit international alliance of more than 100 policy leaders, educators, law enforcement members, technology experts, public health experts and advocates.
iKeepSafe’s independent assessment program is specifically tailored to emerging student data privacy legislation, including California’s Student Online Personal Information Protection Act (SOPIPA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
“DecisionInsite is delighted to have participated in the iKeepSafe process as we feel this is a tangible way to reinforce our long- standing commitment to student data privacy and security for our School District clients,” says Mr. Regele.
“By undergoing the iKeepSafe assessment, DecisionInsite has successfully communicated their dedication to student data privacy,” said Marsali Hancock, President and CEO of iKeepSafe. “Because our youth are learning and growing in a digital culture, schools need to ensure that the tools they depend on have undergone a careful privacy review. They can now feel confident that DecisionInsite’s StudentView platform meets iKeepSafe’s quality standard of data privacy protection.”
